The Beauty Products That Are Saving My Skin This Winter.
Ah, winter. Your weather is wrecking havoc on my skin.
Going from the dry heat inside to the arctic tundra outside, the sun playing hide-&-seek… often hiding for days, combined with the constant blowing of my nose… I’ve acquired an arsenal of beauty products, in order to keep my skin in check. Here are the beauty products that are saving my skin this winter:
for my face…
The product lineup for my skin-care routine in the winter months is completely different than other times of the year.
For example, I’m typically a girl that struggles with an oily complexion… but during this drier season (& my micro-needling treatments!), my oily pores seem to have dried up a bit & I’m finding that my face actually could use a little extra moisture.
Now here’s the deal: I’m all about that anti-aging regimen. At the age of 33, I’m starting to see things change & am taking the initiative to ward off wrinkles in any way, shape & form that I can. You might remember my no bullshit story on Botox, fillers & plastic surgery. I’m not shy about the fact that I have done them (& continue to do them) all!
So in an effort to protect & prolong the investment I’ve made in my appearance, & because… well, I’m worth it… I’m particular about the products in my skincare regimen.
This is a newer product I started introducing to my winter skincare routine in January. I love how it gives me results similar to a professional microdermabrasion, & I feel like my products soak in better after having used it. After cleansing my skin gently, I’ll massage it into usually for 2-3 minutes twice a week, then gently wash it off. The fine mineral general spheres gently polish my skin without irritating it, helping me slough away the dead dry skin cells, & I notice my face looking brighter.

I’m obsessed with collagen: drinking it in my coffee every morning & using bone broth on the regular in the kitchen, all in the name of healthier hair, skin & nails… promoting the stimulation & growth of it, with my Micro-Needling treatments… the works. So here’s a collagen fun fact for you: collagen needs vitamin C is crucial for collagen synthesis. Vitamin C is also good for assisting in antioxidant protection against UV-induced photodamage. Gimme that vitamin C!

& for my body…
Dry skin is the worst.
I’ve finally done it, you guys. Albeit late… I’ve jumped on board with the dry brushing trend. A routine I’ve grown to love is using a gentle dry brush right before I jump into the shower, to help stimulate the lymphatic system. Since dry brushing, I notice my skin feels softer & I feel better as well. Rumor has it, dry brushing helps with reducing cellulite. I mean, I’ll try anything claiming that.
Confession: I’m typically the worst at putting on lotion… until winter hits. Have you ever had skin so dry it physically hurts? Ugh. Even this lazy girl will take the time to slather up full-body style!
However, I don’t do the scented stuff. Between body washes & hair products, deodorant, lotion, perfume/colone… that’s a whole lot of different scents going on, which is almost guaranteed to trigger a killer headache for me… so I opt for the unscented stuff whenever possible. This unscented Curel wet moisturizer goes on before I’ve even towel dried, which leaves me feeling like the water from my shower is locked into my skin.
I’m also on this quest to eliminate chemicals & toxins from my home & daily routine, so I love that this Marlowe. lotion is paraben & phthalate-free, not tested on animals, & made in the USA. & another perk: or every Marlowe. item purchased, soap is distributed to people at risk for hygiene-related illnesses in partnership with Clean the World.
