Photo Diaries from Breckenridge.

 In travel

If I had to sum up our long weekend trip to Breckenridge in one word, it would be: Relaxing.

A wise girlfriend of mine once told me, “sometimes you have to slow down to speed up,” & I couldn’t agree more, however I find it to be easier said than done. That being said, a getaway to unplug with Hubs & my sisters + misters & friends was much needed & much appreciated. I completely unplugged. No work. I hardly even checked email!

There’s something about the mountains that feels magical. It’s such a different landscape than home & it the views literally take my breath away! (or, maybe it’s the altitude… lol!) Our typical travel schedule was lessened in 2018, as I’m living the start-up life at The Dostal House & Hubs’s work life has been ultra demanding this year too. Travel is one of our favorite things to do together, so we’ve missed it terribly!

I completely fell off the wagon, as it relates to my fitness & diet routine. I ate whatever the heck I wanted, & while I definitely paid for it… it was exactly what my foodie soul needed on vacation! Pizza… pasta… gluten… cheese… yes, please! We slept in every morning, we wandered around Main Street & popped into the little shops, while we didn’t downhill ski (honestly, the idea of flying down the side of a mountain in the cold doesn’t really do much for me!) we did try our hand at Nordic Skiing. It didn’t come to us naturally… I’ll just leave it at that! 😉

Hubs & I spent an entire day getting pampered at Keystone Lodge & Spa. A day of massages & facials & soaking in the outdoor hot tub while watching the sun go down behind the mountains was just the sort of unplugging & reconnecting we needed!
