The Beauty Hacks Getting Me By.

COVID has humbled me.

I miss my hair stylist. My esthetician. My nail tech. My spray tans… my Botox… my laser hair removal… There is a considerable amount of time, effort & money that goes into my regular maintenance, & quarantine is exposing all my secrets to my husband! I’ve been forced to get resourceful in quarantine, in an effort to save face, & I wanted to share with you the beauty hacks that are getting me by!

hair care.

I’m using this abundance of down time to treat myself to taking ridiculously good care of my hair. Whenever I take a break from my extensions, I turn to ACV, & am using this scalp scrub & hair rinse once a week. Add Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse to your routine when you need a clean that won’t strip or when you want to freshen hair without traditional shampoo. It is formulated to be gentle, lock in color, & strengthen hair. It is also infused with additional natural ingredients to condition the hair, adding softness & shine with no scent left behind.

Because my dream hair is long hair, I’m also regularly treating my tresses to my favorite deep conditioning mask. Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3 is concentrated treatment that strengthens the hair from within, reducing breakage & improving its look & feel. I’ll leave it on overnight, or soaking in while hiding under a hat at the pool!

skin care.

I don’t discriminate when it comes to facemasks, especially right now! I want to try them all, but I am loving this particular one from Herbivore Botanicals. It’s an intense mask & recommended for those with oily or blemish-prone skin, but can be used with sensitive skin as well! Just leave it on for 5 minutes if your skin is sensitive, & for 15-20 otherwise!

Another facemask I am loving right now is this one by Summer Fridays. It’s rich & hydrating cream formula features proven, skin-loving ingredients that deliver rich hydration & a radiant complexion in just one application. When my skin has been a little more stressed than usual, I’ve used this mask as a primer under my foundation.

Eye patches are another beauty hack in which I do not discriminate, & my favorite during quarantine has been these by Peter Thomas Roth. These lavish, pampering eye treatments with 24K gold & colloidal gold help lift & firm the look of the eye area in as little as 10 minutes. The formula includes hyaluronic acid to deliver intense hydration, hydrolyzed collagen to visibly diminish fine lines & wrinkles, & caffeine to reduce a puffy appearance. I love using eye patches while I blow-dry & style my hair, before applying makeup.

& we can’t forget about our pouts! I love MAC’s lip exfoliate so much. It’s sugar-based & effectively buffs away dry, flaky skin, leaving you with the softest lips! I use it a few times a week & use a tissue to wipe off any excess. So simple & so effective!

nail care.

We’re all becoming our own nail techs right now, & because of that, I’ve ordered a few bottles of nail polish. I fell victim to social media ads for Static Nails, & I’m not sorry I did. I’m kind of obsessed with their Liquid Glass Lacquer! My nails are so short, brittle & in desperate need of a break from the acrylic right now, & the promise of 10+ days without chipping of this formula is not letting me down. (I’m clearly not the only one falling in love with this beauty hack, because the Liquid Glass Lacquer is mostly sold out.)

I don’t know if it’s from all the extra hand-washing & lotion, or what… but my cuticles are out of control, since being banned from my nail tech! I stumbled upon Deborah Lippmann’s Cuticle Remover & purchased it on a whim, because I know the brand in incredible, & it’s changing my at-home nail game!

& my feet… are so starved for a pedicure! I hate-hate-hate the feeling of rough, dry & cracked heels under the sheets, & I would be lost without a good foot file.

While I’m thankful to have found these beauty hacks to get me by, I can’t wait to get back into the hands of my pro beauty team! What appointment will you be making first: hair, skin or nails?!

Adding the Peter Thomas Roth eye patches to my Sephora faves list. I am in desperate need of something to make this luggage under my eyes look less visible.
